Field Manager & Data Collection – The Bear River Watershed Council is looking for a part-time person to fill our field manager and data collection position for Summer 2008. The position will be in conjunction with the Utah Conservation Corps and will be coordinating field data collection and organizing unauthorized route restoration. The applicant must be in good physical condition, able to hike carrying small loads, and have transportation to travel to different forest sites. Computer skills needed. Good people skills a must! * $587.60 for a total of $2,938 a month (with additional mileage reimbursement)
* $1,250 education award at service completion (can be applied to college, student loans and many accredited courses and programs)

 

The Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) is an organization dedicated to improving the environment and the community through natural resources projects, service-learning, and environmental and outreach education. We are recruiting young adults for AmeriCorps positions that will improve the quality of our community and environment.

Some duties include:

* In conjunction with the Executive Director coordinate one or more restoration projects
- Coordinate with Forest Service

- Order materials
- Contact:   volunteers (motorized users, others)

* Review past data, organize, and index
* Data collection (walk Forest Service Routes using a GPS and camera)
* Data preparation
* Attend training workshops

* Coordinate and train MUD volunteers
* Report to BRWC Board
